Tours and Outreach
The UTEP Biodiversity Collections does not have permanent public exhibits except for an exhibit case on the second floor. Tours for groups are arranged based on the availability of curatorial staff and volunteers.
The UTEP Biodiversity Collections Outreach team is made up of curatorial staff, volunteers and graduate students. The team attends several events throughout the year to present various topics on local natural history with the use of natural history specimens. On average, the team reaches 2000 members of the public through the year.
If you are interested in having your group visit the UTEP Biodiversity Collections or have one of our members of the outreach team visit your group, school or organization to talk about organisms of the Chihuahuan Desert, please email Collection Manager, Vicky Zhuang: mzhuang@utep.edu for an initial inquiry or submit this brief interest form: Outreach Request Form. School groups interested in tours involving students under 18 MUST schedule at least one month in advance.
